My Story: “Launching this fundraising campaign is deeply personal for me, as I was recently diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. I’ve decided to make my journey public, with the sole intention of helping to one day wipe out this insidious disease. Partnering with the Jimmy V Foundation is profoundly meaningful to me, they are the best of the best, and as a lifelong sports fanatic I couldn’t be prouder to be an official Ambassador — alongside legends like Coach K, Dick Vitale, Russell Wilson and Ciara. In college, back at the University of Minnesota, I tried out for the Golden Gopher Hockey team. Sadly, I got cut…but wound up serving as the University’s mischievous mascot instead — “Goldy the Gopher.” It was there where I first learned about the power of cheering for others — in order to help generate momentum and create that home ice advantage for our team. So now, coming full-circle, my mission will be to cheer for and rally others to donate their time and money to the Jimmy V team, in order to Achieve our ultimate goal: Victory Over Cancer®.
